Desvelado

Insomne, 2013
Insomne, 2013

i lie awake

my mind flutters

like a flock

of birds

winging off;

parts unknown

beckon.

a body

at rest,

a mind

in flight –

dangerous,

reckless,

senseless;

exhausting.

peace come

over me,

slumber kiss

these open

eyes –

rest –

o, elusive rest! –

come

with haste,

banish the

shadows

around me;

accursed

stresses

accrued,

incurred.

be not

elusive,

be not

coy –

and let

a body

seek

repose.
